We’ll go over key purification techniques, including recrystallisation, distillation, and chromatography, and then apply them in the context of organic synthesis. You’ll practise exam questions that test practical knowledge and synthesis pathways.
This session focuses on building multi-step synthesis routes and confidently linking reactions together. We’ll also cover methods of forming carbon–carbon bonds, with plenty of exam-style practice to strengthen problem-solving skills.
We’ll consolidate your understanding of IR, MS, and NMR spectroscopy and apply it to identifying unknown compounds. The emphasis will be on approaching exam questions methodically and mastering the interpretation of data under timed conditions.
